BOGOR – Learning goes beyond classroom walls. On Thursday (7/9/2026), Asia Cyber University (UNSIA) students saw how industrial management theory is put into practice at PT Aspex Kumbong in Bogor, West Java.
This visit, aiming to strengthen academia-industry relations, involved UNSIA’s Management majors, Head of Management Studies Program Wahyu Purbo Santoso, Head of the Center of Teaching Excellence Bureau and Management Student Association advisor Ratih Anggoro Wilis, and Management Studies Program lecturers Joko Suhariyanto, Silvana Syah, Pustika Ayuning Puri, Goklas Siahaan, and Yusuf Setyadi.
Following a presentation, participants toured around the company’s paper production, tissue production, and tissue conversion areas. Students got to witness firsthand how paper is made, from raw materials to the finished product before it enters the market.
Later, under the guidance of PT Aspex Kumbong’s HSE Coordinator Nunung Nurzanah and a couple of supervisors, the group discussed the production process, quality control, safety and health practices, and use of recycled materials at the company, as part of its commitment to sustainability.
Head of UNSIA’s Management Studies, Wahyu Purbo Santoso, praised PT Aspex Kumbong for the opportunity to gain direct insight into industrial operations and the application of management concepts.
“We appreciate the opportunity to gain skills directly from an industrial setting. This activity gives us a real-world example of how safety and health systems are implemented, how manufacturing works, and how a company is run,” Wahyu said. “All this knowledge complements what our students learn in class.”
On behalf of the company’s management, executive Geuntai Kim hoped for further developments in the relationship with UNSIA through various collaborations.
“We hope this good relationship with Asia Cyber University will thrive through various collaborations. These can be in the form of academic activities, research projects, internships, industry visits, or even scholarship programs for our employees,” Kim said.
The event on Thursday (7/9/2026) sought to deepen PT Aspex Kumbong’s synergy with UNSIA and deliver benefits for the company and school. This collaboration is also expected to support local manpower development, building skills, competitiveness, and readiness to navigate industry challenges. (AK)
