CILEUNGSI – Following its official expansion into the business-to-consumer (B2C) market with packaged tissue products, PT Aspex Kumbong is working intensively to improve staff understanding and competency of the Indonesian National Standard (SNI) through SNI awareness training for the ISO team.
Since entering the segment in early 2025, PT Aspex Kumbong has recognized the need to enhance brand strength through certifications and compliance with applicable standards. This awareness pushed the company to invite the National Standardization Agency (BSN) to speak at the event held Monday (5/25/2026) at the company’s aula.
“We want to thank the BSN team for sharing their materials and insights with our ISO team. We hope this event helps our employees to better grasp the importance of standardization, and support company efforts to maintain and upgrade the quality of our products,” said Nunung Nurzanah, PT Aspex Kumbong’s health, safety, and environment coordinator.
SNI implementation is central to boosting product quality and competitiveness, said training speaker Azmizuhdi. Beyond technical guidelines, standards are a key tool to build buyer trust in products found on traditional and digital marketplaces.
“SNI is part of the key industry benchmarks that ensure manufactured products fulfill quality and safety requirements. Proper compliance with standards allows companies to be more competitive and strengthen consumer trust in their products.”
Besides SNI’s role in cementing product competitive edge, participants learned about the standardization process, the benefits of standards implementation for industries, and the evolution of standardization policies in Indonesia.
PT Aspex Kumbong itself has earned several certifications, including for halal compliance and quality management systems (ISO 9001).
Its tissue brands, Hadato, Ilova, Aspex, and Hadato Premium, have been certified by the Center for Industrial Standardization and Services for Cellulose (Balai Besar Standardisasi dan Pelayanan Jasa Industri Selulosa). These certifications are for facial tissue (SNI 173:2022) and toilet paper production (SNI 103:2022).
With this training, the ISO team is expected to have a stronger comprehension of standardization and its functions: refining product quality, promoting compliance with applicable regulations, and raising customer trust. PT Aspex Kumbong also uses this opportunity to reaffirm its commitment to delivering high-quality tissues, while protecting its competitive edge amid an increasingly fierce market landscape.
